Hybrids are everywhere. You are starting to see them more and more, but a lot of people don't understand them. First off hybrids are great in the city, and on the highway. With the aerodynamics of hybrids today you can drive for long periods of time with great fuel efficiency, and higher electric-only speeds on some vehicles means you might not use much gas on shorter high speed trips. With Hybrids everyone thinks you will have to change your batteries out all the time. This is not true. Hybrid batteries last an inordinately long time. The best example of this is the extreme duress that the hybrid taxis in New York are under. And if you ever have to replace the batteries it no longer cost an arm and a leg. Also Hybrids are easy to drive. You might have to change some of your daily driving habits to get the most out of your hybrid system, like slow acceleration and deceleration. Hybrids are everywhere. You might miss them, because not all of them look like hybrids. Many manufactures have put hybrids in vehicles that are already in the model line up. And the last thing you should know is that you will be paying around the same price for a gas only car. There is not a huge markup on hybrids and you make that back with the fuel savings you gain. Hybrid technology has come a long way in the past few years. When you are doing your research consider a hybrid. |
